India has successfully launched its first mission to the Moon.
India achieved a milestone in the global space history with the successful launch of Chandrayaan -I, India’s first spacecraft mission to moon, today, on October 22, 2008 at 6.22 am from Sathish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota (SHAR) in Andhra Pradesh.

A partial solar eclipse will be visible in India on the afternoon of august 1.People from North-Eastern region can see better, substantial part of teh Sun’s disc being obscured by the moon.
The partial eclipse will be seen in North-Eastern region at 4:08pm. This will start at 4:18pm and ends at 6:02pm for Kolkata.
