Solar Eclipse on August 1, 2008
A partial solar eclipse will be visible in India on the afternoon of august 1.People from North-Eastern region can see better, substantial part of teh Sun’s disc being obscured by the moon.
The partial eclipse will be seen in North-Eastern region at 4:08pm. This will start at 4:18pm and ends at 6:02pm for Kolkata.
The greatest and end pahses of partial eclipse can seen from most parts of India. But not from Nagaland and Mizoram, where the eclipse starts after sunset.
The maximum obscuration of the sun will occur at Sibsagar, the magnitude of eclipse will be around 0.8
A total eclipse will be visible in Canada extending across northern Greenland, the Arctic, central Russia, Mongolia and China.
The next solar eclipse( a partial one ) will occur on January 26, 2009, but will be marginally visible from eastern and southern India.

I love this wonderful astronomical activity. this makes me realize that there GOD has created something very huge and unimaginable. Its beyond our thinking that how huge is our solar system and the whole Galaxy( black matter as per science). Scientist can only assume though they have very advanced equipments and telescopes but who knows their credibility.Science still has go a long way. Till date science only explored 10% of our own brain and its functionality. Science can’t even tell that how the human race evolved. Wether to believe on Darwin’s theory or new science. Or some kind of Alien impact on human race. Who are Aliens…still a BIG question..where they come from.
When Science is still so incomplete then how can we completly depend on it.
when science does not have any evidences of many things then what to rely on.
And religion has its own sayings, beliefs, methods.
But the question is where these methods, beliefs come from.
Like in hindu religion..there are many things which are written some five to ten thousand years back. If anyone co-relate things with modern science you can get many evidences and truths.
As in Solar or Lunar Eclipse..in hindu religion..it is said that we should pray to GOd and avoid eating anything. Its a religion.
But scientifically when rays of sun and moon effects the geological conditions on earth it will automatically effects the life of humans, eatables, and all living creatures as everything is made up of five things..PANCHTATVA..Sky, Wind, Water, Fire, Earth.
